I was hired by a local Stone and Tile Installations Company in Greenville South Carolina, to install a slate entry at a home located in one of the many The Cliffs Communities named The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, in Asheville, North Carolina.
This is a fairly straight forward natural stone application that can add rather impressive curb appeal when the correct colors, textures and installation techniques are utilized. The vast dimensions and complexity of textures and colors available in the natural slate universe are arguably unequaled. The installation of which, can be somewhat challenging due to the inherent size variations, thickness and usually requires an experienced installer for best results.
Project Scope:
Install approximately 100 square feet of owner supplied, straight run, natural finish, Multi-Colored Turkish Slate 12x12, utilizing 1/4 inch grout joints with mortar bed and grout specifications meeting or exceeding ANSI A118.11.
Project Finish Notes:
As mentioned above, it's hard to beat the broad spectrum of textures and colors of natural slate. The entry is beautiful and will afford the owner a low maintenance, natural stone finish that will last for many years.
